African Union concerned about the situation in Ethiopia

The African Union Chairperson said he is following closely and with deep concern the current situation in Ethiopia’s Amhara region where clashes between Fano militiamen and the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) are taking place.

Moussa Faki Mahamat calls for the parties to immediately cease the fighting and ensure the protection of civilians.

He further urges the parties to “engage in dialogue to reach a peaceful solution.”
