DR Congo leader does not rule out war against Rwanda

A war between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda “is possible”, warned Congolese President Felix Tshisekedi in an interview with French media Figaro on Friday.

He made these remarks as violent fighting has raged for months in eastern DRC between government forces and M23 rebels, supported by Rwanda.

“Of course, a war is possible, I won’t hide it from you,” declared Felix Tshisekedi, who made an official visit to France earlier this week.

“This country, which is our neighbor, violates our territory to plunder our critical minerals and terrorize our populations,” once again accuses the Congolese head of state, denouncing “the inertia of the international community,” to whom Kinshasa demands to take sanctions against Rwanda.
