A Nigerian nail painter from Plateau State, Lisha Dachor, 19, has wrapped up her attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest nail painting marathon by an individual.

During this event, dubbed a “nail-a-thon”, Ms. Dachor is said to have painted over 4,000 artificial nails in 72 hours.

In a post on her Facebook page, she wrote, “Breaking barriers and setting records! Honoured to have set a new milestone in the world of nail art with the longest marathon painting of artificial nails by an individual. Grateful for the journey and the incredible support.”

On April 25, Dachor announced her intention to undertake the challenge from April 28 to May 1 at Odilin’s Event Centre, behind the National Library in Jos, Plateau State capital.

She also stated that free bus transportation to and from the venue would be made available for attendees.

In an interview with the BBC, Dachor stated that she aims to use her record attempt to shine a positive spotlight on Plateau State.
