Kenyan President William Ruto announces end of visas for Africans

Kenyan President, William Ruto, announced on Saturday in Brazzaville, capital of the Republic of Congo, the end of entry visas into his country by the end of the current year for African nationals.

Speaking at the summit of the three tropical forest basins, namely the Amazon, the Congo and the Borneo-Mekong region, he castigated the low rate of intra-African trade, before calling for the acceleration of the African Continental Free Trade Area (ZLECAF).

President William Ruto has called for customs tariffs to be reduced and visas to be restricted.

“By the end of the year, no African will need a visa to enter Kenya. The time has come to understand the importance of doing trade between us,” he declared.
