French rapper MHD sentenced to 18 years in prison

The Paris Assize Court sentenced rapper MHD to 18 years in prison for the murder in Paris in 2018 of a young man, lynched as part of a settling of scores between rival gangs.

The rapper denied on Wednesday having participated in the murder of the young man but was still convicted.

The attorney general also requested 13 to 20 years of criminal imprisonment for six other co-accused, one of whom is on the run and therefore tried in absentia.

He also requested acquittal for the last two men.
