Unknown gunmen dressed in police uniform shot and killed a man at Rumuokoro Junction in the Obio, Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria, reports said.
“The deceased, a volunteer traffic warden, was controlling traffic in Rumuokoro, an outskirt of Port Harcourt before the incident,” reports said.
He was helping to clear the traffic jam caused by a downpour when one of the armed men in police uniforms inside a vehicle ran away.
“The deceased had an issue with some security personnel, but could not give a proper identity of the people,” an eyewitness said.
The corpse was later retrieved from the scene by policemen and deposited at a morgue in Port Harcourt.
The deceased’s father called for a proper investigation to unravel those behind his son’s death.
