A missing boy found dead in a drum in Asaba

An 11-year-old missing boy has been found dead inside a drum in Asaba, the Delta State capital of Nigeria, according to reports.

“I travel to the West part of the country, on my way coming back to Asaba, I called him and informed him of my coming cause he was in school for lessons,” according to the deceased mother.

“Due to fuel scarcity, i got to Asaba very late, I couldn’t found my son, i was told he went to charge his phone, he was nowhere to be found,” she added.

“Imagine the drum I collected water from to wash my face was where my son was found. They killed him and sneaked him back inside the drum,” she said.

The deceased’s mother called on the security agency in the state to expedite action against the killer in order to give him justice.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident, adding that some suspects have been arrested.

The police are waiting for the autopsy to ascertain the cause of the boy’s death.
