Farmers arrested for eating suspected human meat

Three farmers from the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region were arrested by the Sawla police for eating suspected human meat in Ghana.

They were reported to have cooked the meat they thought was that of a chimpanzee, which was burnt by bush fires on their farm.

The farmers then went to the landowners for purification.

They were reported to the police by the landlords.

Assembly member of the area, confirmed the incident to Citi News and said the farmers only realized that the meat was human meat after they had consumed part of it.

Investigations by the police are still underway.
