Bodies of 16 soldiers killed in Delta State attack buried in Abuja

The remains of 16 soldiers killed in an armed attack in Nigeria’s Delta State were laid to rest in the capital Abuja on Wednesday, according to reports.

On March 17, 16 soldiers, including two majors and a captain, were killed in an attack on soldiers on a peacekeeping mission in Delta State.

The funeral ceremony in Abuja was attended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Commander of the Nigerian Ground Forces Taoreed Lagbaja, ministers, governors and senior civil servants, as well as the families of the deceased soldiers and many citizens.

The bodies of the 16 soldiers were buried in the capital’s military cemetery.

No information was given on the group that organized the attack.
