Police have arrested a 17-year-old girl who allegedly stabbed her adoptive mother to death in Oda, Akure, Nigeria.
“The deceased’s family claimed the suspect was suffering from mental illness,” according to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami.
“The decomposing body of the deceased was found at her residence after she was killed,” reports said.
“The deceased was stabbed in the stomach and the doors were locked to prevent him from getting help,” according to a neighbor.
The suspect is in custody and investigation started into the matter, according to the PPRO.
