Two-year-old baby starves to death in UK

A two-year-old toddler starved to death next to his dead father days after he suffered a heart attack in the United Kingdom.

“The bodies were discovered by the social worker who used a key from the owner to enter the house as she had had no response after several days,” according to reports.

She found the bodies and contacted police, who then rushed to the scene along with paramedics.

The pair were pronounced dead at the scene.

“It means if the social worker had pushed to get in when she got no reply at first then the toddler would still have been alive,” according to the toddler’s mother.

“I last saw my son after getting into an argument with the father before Christmas,” she said.

The todddler was also classified as vulnerable by social services meaning that he received weekly visits from social workers. 

Heather Sandy, executive director for children’s services, said, “This was a tragic incident, and we are supporting the family at this difficult time.”
