Cardiologist suspected of having drugged numerous women to rape them

A 35-year-old cardiologist is targeted by 51 different charges in Denver (Colorado), suspected of having drugged then sexually assaulted or raped numerous women met on dating applications, reports ABC News.

At a court hearing on Friday October 6, he pleaded not guilty.

The 30-year-old was arrested last March, targeted by accusations from a woman claiming to have been drugged without her knowledge, then raped.

She says she met the man on a date after chatting with him on the Hinge app.

While the suspect declares that they had consensual sex after drinking several cocktails together, the young woman assures that she does not remember a large part of the evening, and in particular having had any sexual relations with him.

The cardiologist’s lawyer, who denounced a flawed investigation to CBS News in April, pointed to the absence in the file of “medical evidence proving that the accuser was too weakened to give consent.”

Incarcerated after his arrest, his client was released on bail of $50,000.
