Catholic Church in Switzerland marred by new scandal

A thousand cases of s3xual abuse have been documented in a survey of the Swiss Catholic Church, according to reports.

More than 1,000 victims of abuse, the majority of them men, since the 1950s: that’s the conclusion of the investigation commissioned by the Swiss Catholic Church itself to shed light on the deviations within its ranks.

According to the investigators, this is just “the tip of the iceberg”.

“Scary and shocking”, commented the Swiss Catholic Church.

According to the report, “three-quarters of the cases listed involved minors, and sometimes even abused infants.”

For several years now, the Church has accepted the existence of abusive priests, and now refrains from protecting them or posting them far from their victims, as was the case for decades.
