Woman loses finger after buying a ring from friend

A 35-year-old woman lost a finger after buying a wedding ring from a close friend to replace the one she had lost in the Awutu Senya East municipality in Ghana’s Central Region.

“She had lost her original ring several months ago and opted to acquire a replacement from a friend who trades in jewelry,” according to Adom News.

Although the ring feels slightly tight on her finger, she ignores it, assuming it’s because she hasn’t worn one for a long time.

“We were attending a funeral, so I decided to wear the new ring. However, upon our return, I found myself unable to remove it,” she recounted.

“I discovered my finger had swelled significantly, and all my attempts to extricate the ring proved futile,” she added.

Kasoa Mother and Child Hospital intervened, supported by fervent prayers from a group of pastors, that the ring could finally be cut off.

The victim’s husband, expressed his shock upon witnessing the condition of his wife’s finger.
