Ghana: a man found dead in his room

A 41-year-old farmer has committed suicide at Tei Nkwanta near Koforidua in the Eastern Region, Ghana, according to reports.

“The victim was found hanging on a rope after some family members broke into his room to search for him,” reports said.

“He was struggling to pay Ghc600 debt, hence we believe that might have been the cause of his action,” according to family members.

“I received a report that he was behaving strangely moving from one point to another and even said he was afraid to sleep in his room. He drinks so we thought maybe he was drunk,” the family head said.

“We planned to send him to the hospital only to be struck by news of his death,” the victim sister said.

The body was taken to the morgue pending further investigation.

The deceased left behind two teenage children but without a wife.
