Ugandan authorities have announced the end of the Ebola outbreak which began earlier in September and killed more than 50 people.
The announcement follows a 42-day period without any new confirmed cases.
“We have successfully controlled the Ebola outbreak in Uganda,” Health Minister Jane Ruth Aceng said at a ceremony on Wednesday in Mubende.
This outbreak caused particular concern in Uganda as it was caused by the Sudan strain of Ebola, for which there is no vaccine.
