French media correspondent arrested in Benin

Beninese police on Sunday arrested Emilien David, correspondent for the French-speaking channel TV5Monde in the northern town of Materi, not far from the areas affected by the terrorist attacks.

The news website crystal-news.net, one of the first to broadcast the news, indicates that he was taken to the criminal brigade in Cotonou, the economic capital and main city of the country.

Beninwebtv.com adds that for the moment, the reasons for his arrest are not known.
