Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said he is determined to hand over power to another New Patriotic Party (NPP) government in the 2024 presidential election.
President Akufo-Addo said although things are currently difficult, he will ensure that the NPP retains power in 2024.
He made this statement during his work tour of the Upper West region.
“I will make sure NPP wins the 2024 elections,” he said.
He said once a flagbearer emerges out of the contest for the position fairly and transparently, NPP will be able to unite and triumph over the National Democratic Congress in the 2024 elections, Pulse news agency indicates.
“Let’s create the conditions for a fair and transparent process. The one that will allow us after the competition to unite. We want to come out of this process with someone who will have the ability to unite our party and put it in a position to take on the traditional opponent the Democratic National Congress and defeat the Democratic National Congress in December 2024. Mine is to do whatever I can do to help the new leadership of the party,” President Akufo-Addo said.
