Chanting “We need peace in Ukraine”, dozens of Nigerians gathered outside the Russian Embassy in Nigeria’s capital Abuja, calling for an end to the invasion of Ukraine.
They chanted “We need peace in Ukraine” while carrying signs that read “Our children, our future,” referring to Nigerian students living in Ukraine.
They urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the Russian military operation in neighboring Ukraine.
Earlier, the Nigerian government has expressed disappointment over the mistreatment of Nigerian students at the Ukrainian border following the Russian invasion of the country.
