The coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc in Ethiopia, killing 72 people in the past two days, the health ministry said.
It is the highest number of deaths recorded in the country since last week when the ministry officially confirmed the presence of the highly transmissible Delta variant, BBC News reports.
Health officials say the number of positive cases has increased, hospitalisation numbers have gone up with “ICU facilities getting full.”

The country has so far recorded a total of 325,000 cases including 5001 deaths.
