Algeria’s health officials have approved the use of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine against the coronavirus in the country. A first on the African continent.
The Algerian Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry has given the authorization for the emergency use of the Sputnik V vaccine manufactured by Russia. This information was also confirmed by the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), which finances the development of the vaccine. It is the first African country to have its population vaccinated with the Russian vaccine.

This is the direct consequence of the signing of an agreement between Algeria and Russia a week ago, as part of the use of Sputnik V by Algeria.
