Covid-19: Guinean population vaccinated on an experimental basis

The Russian vaccine Sputnik V is administered to the Guinean population against the new coronavirus this Wednesday, December 30 on an experimental basis. Conakry asked Moscow the delivery of two million doses.

To begin with, this experimental phase concerns a small number of volunteers of a certain age.

The Sputnik V vaccine has been developed by the Russian National Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology Gamaleîa.

“I came to reassure the Guinean population, Guinean people, the example and determination of the government to fight effectively against the pandemic. It is the beginning of the process, it will continue, we will extend it to the entire population so that those who are desiring to be vaccinated, can be vaccinated”, has assured the Guinean Minister of Defense, Dr Mohamed Diane.

In the context of this pandemic, Guinea recorded more than 13,000 cases of contamination with 80 deaths.
