DR Congo: schools do not reopen after the Christmas holidays

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, students do not return to school on Tuesday January 5, after the Christmas holidays as it is the case in most of the countries on the continent.

The Ministry of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education after a meeting with the team of the coronavirus response has decided to postpone the recorvery of courses at a later date.

Indeed, the evolution of the pandemic worries particularly in Kinshasa. More than 2/3 cases reported by the health authorities since Mars 2020 come from the capital.

According to the Minister of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education, this decision is taken in order not to expose children to the virus.
