Egypt authorized the use of anti covid-19 vaccine developed by the chinese laboratory Sinopharm. The announcement was done by the Egyptian Minister of Health and Population, Hala Zayed, as reported our colleagues of Jeune Afrique.
After therefore a first batch of vaccine comprising 50 000 doses delivered in December, Egypt must receive a second batch of the same quantity “the second or third week of January.”
“As soon as it comes, we will start the vaccination”, indicated the Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed.
The ministry has announced that the first beneficiaries would be the members of the medical teams.

It should be noted that Egypt recorded more than 140 000 cases of Covid-19 including nearly 7 800 dead.
After a brief acalmia, contaminations have drastically increased during Autumn, from a hundred new cases recorded per day in October to about 1400 new daily cases today.
