WHO has released two million dollars to support the anti-Ebola response in Uganda, announced the World Health Organization’s Director General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, on his X account.
“Our teams are supporting surveillance, laboratories, logistics, infection prevention and control in hospitals, treatment centers and research,” he stressed.
Uganda confirmed nine cases of Ebola-Sudan virus on Tuesday.
At the end of January, Kampala announced the start of an Ebola-Sudan epidemic, with the death of a nurse working in a hospital in the capital.
A total of 265 contacts have been placed in isolation in hospitals in Kampala and Mbale, a town in the east of the country.
