On the eve of Youth Day, celebrated in Cameroon every February 11, Cameroon’s Head of State made his customary address to his young compatriots.
President Biya repeated his promises in terms of employment and training for young people, reaffirming his determination to continue to meet the challenges facing his people.
With a presidential election scheduled for October in Cameroon, President Paul Biya also invited his young compatriots to prepare responsibly, calmly and serenely.
“Don’t let them use you to achieve their pernicious goals, namely to create disorder in our dear and beautiful country. And don’t let yourselves be lulled into complacency by the spurious and mostly unattainable promises they are trying to sell you”, he continued, referring to his political opponents.
At the age of 92, Cameroon’s Head of State ended his speech by reaffirming his determination to serve the country.
