Another Ivorian breaks a Guinness Record

Paper artist Mylène Amon spent 120 hours creating 130 optical illusion representations on the theme of Ivory Coast in portrait, surpassing the previous record of 100 portraits held by a Nigerian.

This Guinness Record-holding optical artist has just taken up the challenge of a marathon that began on February 5 at the BAE stadium in the commune of Yopougon, Ivory Coast.

Mylène Amon’s aim is to enter Ivory Coast in the Guinness World Records, following in the footsteps of her compatriot Zeinab Bancé.

This Guinness World Record challenge is not just an artistic feat, but also a message of support for children with cancer. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the portraits will be donated to these sick children.

The artist has created optical illusion portraits of personalities in fields such as politics, culture, sport, entrepreneurship, religion and the media in his country and elsewhere.

“Optical art is not yet recorded in Guinness World Records, so this challenge is a golden opportunity to include it in this prestigious book, while at the same time highlighting Ivory Coast,” said Mylène Amon, who has just written a new chapter in the cultural history of Ivory Coast.
