A 30-year-old man has been arrested for defiling a 9-year-old girl at Gomoa Nyanyano in the Gomoa East District in the Central Region, Ghana.
According to reports, the suspect asked the victim, who was playing with her friends, to buy water for him. She had just closed from school, while her mother was away.
After committing the act, the suspect handed the victim GH₵5.00, which she gave to her mother upon her return, reports added.
According to Adom News, “the mother of the victim noticed a change in her daughter’s walking. Out of curiosity, she asked what she did to deserve the GH₵5.00 and checked her panty, in which she found blood stains.”
Upon questioning, the victim told her mother what had happened to her, and medical checks confirmed she had indeed been defiled.
A complaint was filed at the police station, leading to the victim’s arrest. Upon interrogation, he admitted to the crime but claimed it was the devil’s work.
