A 56-year-old farmer has died following an attack by a swarm of bees at Nkwasiatan, a farming community in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region, Ghana.
According to reports, “the deceased had gone to his farmland on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 but did not return after several hours”.
Concerned residents therefore initiated a search.
“When we went to search for him, we found his lifeless body covered in bees,” Alexander Kwasi Yeboah, the Assemblyman for the Nkwasiatan electoral area, said.
The police in Nyinahin were notified, and the body of the deceased was transported to the Bibiani Government Hospital mortuary for preservation and further investigation.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
