A young man has allegedly confessed to to killing his mother, grandmother, sister, and niece for ritual purposes in Nigeria.
The suspect admitted to lacing food with poison under instructions from a native doctor based in the Agbani area of Nsukka.
The suspect revealed that the native doctor, allegedly introduced to him by a friend advised him to sacrifice his mother to gain wealth.
Unfortunately, the planned act took a darker turn as other family members his grandmother, sister, and niece unintentionally ate the poisoned food while visiting his mother, resulting in their deaths.
Only a nine-year-old child survived the poisoning but is battling severe mental health issues following the ordeal.
The suspect was paraded before the community after confessing and taken to his mother’s grave to beg for forgiveness.
Meanwhile, the native doctor implicated in the crime has been arrested, and investigations are ongoing.
The incident has left the community in shock and grief, with calls for justice for the victims.
