A 25-year-old woman was found in the street with her face slashed, an ear cut off and a finger severed in Châlons-en-Champagne (Marne), France.
According to reports, the attack occurred at around 6:30 and the suspect is believed to be a man known for acts of rape.
An investigation has been opened by the public prosecutor’s office in Châlons-en-Champagne (Marne) for kidnapping, false imprisonment and attempted rape resulting in permanent mutilation or disability.
The young woman was left bleeding and in a state of shock in rue Jacques-Prévert, in the Croix-Dampierre district.
The assailant quickly fled in a white SUV. His vehicle was found in a canal, with blood stains inside.
The victim was taken to hospital by the fire department. Her prognosis is not life-threatening, but she is in a serious condition.
According to a witness, a man was beating up a woman in a parking lot when she screamed and alerted local residents. Bloodstains were found at the scene.
