UK: four Nigerian students jailed over street fight

Four Nigerian students in the United Kingdom have been sentenced to prison for their involvement in a violent knife fight in Leicester.

“The incident occurred on November 4, 2021, on New Park Street, leaving one victim with multiple stab wounds,” according to reports.

An investigation by the Leicester City Police authorities identified the culprits through CCTV footage, phone tracking, and public assistance.

The students, all in their early 20s, received sentences ranging from two to seven years.

The main suspect was sentenced to seven years for violent disorder, attempted grievous bodily harm, and GBH with intent.

A spokesperson for the Leicester Police reportedly commended the public for their assistance during the investigation and stressed the need to tackle violent behaviour to ensure community safety.
