At least 10 people lost their lives in an accident in the Abule Osun area of the Lagos-Badagary highway in Lagos State, Nigeria.
“Three children and seven adults were among the victims of the incident,” according to the reports.
According to the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, “the accident occurred when a Siena vehicle loaded to capacity rammed into a stationary truck along the road.”
He disclosed that the investigation revealed that the Siena vehicle was on top speed without taking cognisance of the granite-laden truck, which had taken half of the road.
He added that the injured persons were rescued by officials of the FRSC before the arrival of the LASEMA team while the deceased would be handed to the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit for necessary action.
