Two mortuary workers arrested for selling human parts

Two morgue workers have been arrested for selling human body parts to suspected ritualists in Osun State, Nigeria, according to reports.

The morgue employees, aged 43 and 42, were arrested along with the suspected ritualists following a tip-off from a concerned citizen.

The Acting Police Public Relations Officer of the command disclosed this during a press briefing at the police headquarters on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.

According to the police, the investigation led to the discovery that the suspects conspired to sell both human remains and water used in bathing corpses to local ritualists.

During a search of the suspects residences, items were recovered, including suspected human bone fragments at their homes.

A female undergarment and a notebook containing ritual instructions were also found at the residence of one other suspect.

The police stated ” all the suspects have been charged in court.”
