President Paul Biya has authorized the release of 350 million CFA to help the victims affected by floods in Cameroon.
According to reports, ” 200,000 people have been affected by floods that have hit the country’s Far North region hard.”
Speaking at a press conference in Yaoundé on Friday, Minister Paul Atanga Nji explained that the President had ordered this financial aid to support the 950 families affected in the Mayo-Danay department, marking the government’s first response to the disaster.
Some families have been bereaved by the death of eleven of their relatives, due to flooding caused by heavy rains, amplified by climate change.
