Rapper Koba LaD was involved in a fatal accident in Créteil, France, while under the influence of drugs, the Créteil public prosecutor’s office said.
The artist was not yet in police custody due to his hospitalization, but was behind the wheel at the time of the accident, which claimed the life of one of his passengers, reports said.
An investigation into manslaughter by driver has been opened, the public prosecutor’s office said.
On Tuesday evening, the 24-year-old rapper, who lives in Essonne, was driving a luxury sports sedan when he drove at full speed onto an exit ramp of a petrol station on the A86 freeway, colliding with a parked HGV.
The front passenger succumbed to his injuries, the rear passenger suffered minor injuries and the truck driver was slightly injured.
In 2020, Koba LaD received a three-month suspended prison sentence and 140 hours of community service for a car accident in Marseille. He fled the scene before turning himself in to the police three days later.
