The former captain of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, Samuel Eto’o, has spoken out about his salary as president of FECAFOOT, revealing a surprising amount in a YouTube interview with The Bridge media.
Contrary to accusations that he is profiting from the federation, Eto’o surprised many with his revelations.
He revealed that his salary as president of FECAFOOT is zero FCFA. What’s more, he pointed out that he sometimes uses his own funds to solve certain financial problems.
“At the federation, it was a group of buddies who managed soccer and made money for themselves. I said no, I’m a footballer, I’m entering this political world of management, and I have to bring something else to the table.”
“I don’t have a salary at the federation, because I don’t need one. And often, when things are difficult, I take money out of my own pocket and invest it. I don’t need to tell others and I don’t need to change my image”, he declared.
