Cameroon: the famous actress Mami Ton has died

The family of Kentsop Orgelle, whose stage name is Mami Ton, announced her death in the early hours of this morning, September 5 after being admitted to the Douala General Hospital in Cameroon.

The deceased had been receiving intensive care since suffering a stroke.

Born in Loum in the Littoral region, Mami Ton discovered her passion for comedy at the age of 32. Her innate talent and charisma made her a star.

Her relatives, fans and the entire Cameroonian film community are mourning an icon.

The doors to the world of cinema were opened to her by director and producer Ebenezer Kepombia.

In a career spanning more than two decades, Mami Ton has also played a crucial role in the revelation of Cameroonian cinema on the international scene. This earned him the honorary distinction of Chevalier de l’ordre du Mérite Camerounais.

Mami Ton passed away at the age of 56, and messages of condolence flooded the web.
