Tiger tamer’s arm ‘torn’ by tiger at amusement park

A tiger tamer was bitten by a tiger at Dreamworld on Monday (September 2) near Brisbane, Australia, according to local hospital services.

The woman suffered a lacerated arm but was in stable condition,” Queensland Ambulance Service said.

Queensland Ambulance Service official Justin Payne said the victim was 47 and an “experienced” tiger tamer. He said the employee’s injuries “were very well managed by Dreamworld paramedics” and she was “generally well”.

“Dreamworld acknowledges that an incident involving a park tiger and a certified tiger tamer has occurred,” the amusement park said in a statement. “This was an isolated and rare incident and we will conduct a rigorous review accordingly.”
