A three-year-old girl has been hospitalized in the United States after being attacked by a female black bear, CNN reported.
Around 10 p.m., she was attacked and injured by a female black bear while she was in a tent at a private campsite south of the town of Red Lodge, in the state of Montana.
The local agency Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) said in a press release that it had found “unsecured attractants, including trash, a cooler and human food, around and inside the tent where the attack took place.”
The girl was hospitalized and the campsite was completely evacuated on Monday, August 12. Traps were set to catch the bear. And the female was finally caught Monday afternoon, before being shot.
The FWP had no further information Tuesday on the condition of the girl who was attacked, said game warden Randy Hutzenbiler, the Associated Press reported.
