Man sentenced to life in Ghana for triple murder

The High Court in Koforidua, Ghana, has sentenced a 53-year-old man to life in prison after he was charged with triple murder, local media reported.

The man known as Musa Maliki, is involved in the murder of three invididuals including a 12-year-old girl in Ayenasu, a village in the Eastern Region.

After a fifteen-year trial, the court found Maliki guilty on three counts of murder.

The Court presided over by Justice George Krofa Addae said, “By the coming into force of the Criminal Offences Amendment Act, 2003, the punishment for the offense of murder is life imprisonment in Count 1, life imprisonment on Count 2, and life imprisonment on Count 3, all to run concurrently.”

The Koforidua High Court then sentenced him to life imprisonment.
