A 23-year-old man has been arrested by police in Bauchi State for allegedly raping a 10-year-old mentally handicapped boy in Nigeria’s Bauchi State.
The suspect was arrested by operatives attached to Operation Restore Peace in the state, the command’s spokesperson, Ahmed Wakil, said.
“The suspect lured the victim with a N30 sweet and asked him to accompany him to an isolated area behind the AIB filling station along Kofar Ran to defecate, “Ahmed said.
“After the defecation, the suspect asked the victim to undress his trousers and grabbed the victim from behind, leading to him having carnal knowledge,” he added.
According to the PPRO, “the victim rushed to the manager of the filling station and informed him that the suspect had taken advantage of him.”
“The suspect leveraged the unsound mental condition of the victim to perpetrate such a crime on him,” Wakil added.
