The Deputy Commander of the Volta North regional police force was found dead in a hotel in Hohoe, Ghana, according to reports.
“Relatives of the deceased had tried reaching him on the phone several times but there was no response,” reports said.
The family then lodged a complaint with the regional police command, fearing that something might have happened to them.
A team of police officers went to room number 4 of the Obama Hotel, where the deceased was staying.
“He was found dead in a lateral position in a room whose door was also unlocked”, according to police investigators.
He was rushed to the Hohoe Municipal Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The body has since been conveyed to the Police Hospital Mortuary in Accra, pending an autopsy.
