Son killed 75-year-old father to death

A man has been arrested for macheting his father to death over a parcel of land in Uruting Village, Okobo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

“The 75-year-old deceased owned numerous parcels of land in the state,” according to his son.

“The deceased sold some of the land, including the one he had givento his to build a house on,” reports said.

“The suspect approached his father to demand payment for the land, he responded that the buyers had not yet made their payment, which led to him viciously beating his father to death,” reports said

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, confirmed the incident and the suspect has been arrested.
