Airline offers 90 free tickets to baby born mid-flight

In a message published on Saturday March 16, the Mexican national airline Aeroméxico reported a birth which took place during a flight which linked Mexico City to Ciudad Juárez the day before.

“We welcomed a new passenger in mid-flight! His birth is something extraordinary that touched our hearts,” we can read.

As El Pais indicates, the mother of Haitian origin, aged 31, began to break water during the flight. During her delivery, she was supported by Leticia Olivares Solorio, a doctor who happened to be on board.

After the delivery was complete, a flight attendant presented the newborn to the crowd, who applauded, a video posted on social media showed. Upon landing, the baby and his mother were taken care of and hospitalized. They are in good health.

In its message, the airline promised “a great gift.” As El Pais learned, the company offers 90 free flights to the newborn. A figure which owes nothing to chance since in 2024, the airline celebrates its 90th anniversary.
