A man killed his 90-year-old grandmother

A suspect has been arrested for macheting his grandmother to death at Udo Village in the Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

“The suspect cut his grandmother’s neck as he fled with her money, worth N16,750,” according to reports.

“The deceased was slain by the suspect on the farm while they were harvesting cassava stems,” the state police Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, confirmed.

Police were alerted to the old lady’s death and the suspect was later arrested as he attempted to flee.

The body was taken to the state morgue for burial.
