CAF unveils a date for the competition

Morocco will host the next Africa Cup of Nations in July-August 2025, so as not to interfere with the organization of the first 32-team Club World Cup scheduled for June 2025.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has just given its agreement in principle on the date of the next continental soccer competition, even though a few days ago in Abidjan, CAF President Patrice Motsepe had refused to give a date for the AFCON 2025.

“The dates currently proposed are from July 20 to August 16 or 17, 2025,” an anonymous source told AFP.

According to the CAF calendar, the preliminary round is scheduled from March 18 to 26, while qualifying for the AFCON 2025 has not yet begun.
