Soldier shot dead in Ogun attack

A soldier of the Nigerian Army has reportedly shot himself to death in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, Nigeria, according to reports.

The soldier shot himself in the head on standby duty, the day Nigeria commemorated the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

The bloody image that has gone viral on social media shows the lifeless body of the soldier lying in a pool of blood after his head was severed by the impact of the bullet.

The military police have been investigating the incident.

All soldiers that were there when the incident happened were taken to custody for their statements and all the normal procedures.
