Man remanded for stabbing colleague in Lagos

A Yaba Magistrate’s Court remanded a 25-year-old man for allegedly stabbing his colleague to death during an altercation, Yaba, Lagos State, Nigeria.

The police brought the 25-year-old defendant before Magistrate L.Y. Balogun on a one-count charge bordering on murder.

“The suspect confronted the deceased over the undisclosed issue, and they started quarrelling before the defendant allegedly used a knife to stab him,” according to reports.

The deceased was rushed to the Mainland General Hospital, Yaba, but was pronounced dead on arrival by a medical doctor on duty.

The offence committed by the defendant is contrary to Section 222 and punishable under Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
