At least 19 South Africans evacuated from war-hit Gaza

A total of 19 South Africans have crossed into Egypt from war-hit Gaza, South Africa’s foreign ministry spokesman Clayson Monyela has said.

“Our missions in Palestine & Egypt led by Ambassadors Shaun Byneveldt & Ntsiki Mashimbye worked with authorities to facilitate this,” Mr Monyela said on X.

“We are grateful for their partnership. Our nationals will now be coming home,” he added.
